Barkha Dutt is one among the passionate and motivating women of India. She is a television journalist and columnist. Also, she is the group editor of NDTV. If there is something that is much notable about Barkha Dutt is her courageous reportage of Kargil War. Ever since he career as a journalist, she has been so committed to her job and has stood as a role model for many female journalists in India.
Barkha completed her English Literature from St. Stephen’s College and Master’s in Mass Communication Jamia Millia Islamia Mass Communication Research Center. She graduated in Journalism from the Columbia University’s Graduate School of Journalism. Starting her career with NDTV, she grew rapidly and became the head of English News Wing of the Organization.
Barkha’s Sunday Talk Show added Fame to her and she became notable after this show. It is also remarkable to know that the show received Indian Television Academy award for Best Talk Show for five consecutive years.
Barkha Dutt was recognized as the Most Intelligent News Show Host and for the same she was honored with the Indian News Broadcasting Award. She also received the Commonwealth Broadcasting Association Award, 2007. Barkha was also was honored by the Government of India for the coverage of Tsunami (2004) with the Padma Shri, which is a great civilian honor.
For her programme “We the People” Barkha received the “Best TV News Anchor (English) at the first Indian News Television Awards in 2007. World Economic Forum recognized Burkha Dutt as one of the 100 “Global Leaders of Tomorrow” during the years 2001 and 2008).
